HELLO GOOD INSIGHTS
Preparing an OEM appliance project brief

A useful OEM brief gives the design and manufacturing teams a shared starting point. It does not need to answer every question immediately, but it should identify the product, market and decisions that need to be made.
Define the product and intended market
Begin with the product format, intended use and target market. For fans and heaters, describe the preferred size, placement and control method. Include electrical and documentation requirements that need to be reviewed for that market.
Separate essential functions from options
List the functions that are essential to the range, then identify optional features. Speed settings, oscillation, timers, remote controls and color selections can all affect the product discussion. Refer to an existing model where possible so both teams can work from a clear reference.
Prepare brand and packaging information
Provide the logo artwork, preferred product colors and any packaging direction. Note which files are final and which are still being developed. Agree the artwork and sample approval process before production planning.
Use the sample to close open questions
The sample stage is the time to confirm appearance, controls, materials and the agreed functions. Record any requested changes together with the final specification. Quality checks should be discussed against this approved reference.
Plan the next manufacturing steps
Hello Good integrates R&D, industrial design, manufacturing and export support. After reviewing the brief and sample, the teams can discuss production and delivery requirements for the project. Lead time, order quantities and shipping arrangements should be confirmed for the specific order.
